Millions of people have decided not to be sensitive. They have grown thick skins around themselves just to avoid being hurt by anybody. But it is at great cost. Nobody can hurt them, but nobody can make them happy either.
No one is going to like me anymore after these.
1. A selection of television programs you do not care for.
Almost all the ones that are popular at the moment?? The ones I’ve seriously attempted and promptly given up on are things such as Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad (please, it’s running itself into the ground, when will American television learn that longer series =/= better series) and The Walking Dead. I also am not a big fan of Sherlock or Supernatural, but Doctor Who can stay.
2. A selection of musical artists you do not care for.
Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu (why), several western rappers, Skrillex, and, idk, this would be a really extensive list if I sat down and thought about it properly.
3. A selection of celebrities you couldn’t care less about.
Anyone who shows up in trashy gossip magazines, I suppose? I interpret this question as meaning there are celebrities whose personal lives I should actually care about but no, not really. I don’t really follow general celeb news so I don’t really sift out ‘celebrities I care about’ from ‘celebrities I don’t care about’.
17. The household chore that makes you want to shoot your own face off.
Washing windows, probably why I never do them now (oops). This is due to the fact that back when my mother delegated household chores to us kids I’d end up stuck with that one the most, and the house we were in at the time had a lot of windows. She was never happy with the first try either so I got to do it a whole lot.
19. A celebrity crush that maybe even you don’t understand.
This one’s super tough because while I have a couple of celebrity crushes they’re all cultivated through years of following said celebrity so I can justify them all pretty well.
I think maybe the only one who came out of nowhere is Tao from Korean boyband EXO.
Don’t even fucking look at me he’s like seven years my junior.
4. A hobby you “don’t get”.
People who buy comics or action figures and keep them tightly sealed in their original packaging. I mean I guess I do ‘get’ it, but it feels like such a waste to buy something and not be able to leaf through it or play with it! Okay so none of my figures will be worth as much as yours might be in a couple of, uh, decades, but at least they’ll have been greatly loved!
5. A habit you find disgusting.
Smoking. I’m sorry! I know a lot of people do it and it shouldn’t be such a big deal but the smell makes me feel really ill. I don’t know if I’m just sensitive to it or what but I can’t stand being too close to smokers or in the house of people who smoke indoors, it’s just way too overpowering for me.
6. Something in school you really liked doing that everyone else bitched over.
I really liked essay-writing, actually. Maybe the essay writing was what got me onto blogging in the end because when I wasn’t writing essays in school I was writing opinionated things on the internet. It helped me expand my vocabulary and I enjoyed analysing books and films (to some extent) through essays. These days I just blog :P
I’m drawing the Gage twins for a Jaegercon bingo prompt and still have a Caitlin Lightcap to colour so I’m BUZZING WITH EXCITEMENT because dang this fandom makes me so creative :DD
GAGE TWINS THOUGH chiseled jaws, dress uniforms and neatly combed hair, the image of American military excellence can we get a wolf-whistle please
Hopefully I’ll have something new up tonight yeeeeaaaah
I got the following lovely message as a submission the other day! This PacRim fan doesn’t have a Tumblr but made the effort to make his love for the film known anyway by submitting using his email, what a sweetheart!
I thought I would say hi because I enjoyed watching Pacific Rim and I’m also from Melbourne (South Eastern suburbs).
Basically when I first heard about Pacific Rim I thought about going to watch it with a friend who really likes giant robot anime (Gundam, Macross). I like giant robots and giant monsters as well so it seemed like it would be enjoyable in that regards. What I didn’t expect was that the stories about the characters would be just as interesting to watch.
I don’t go to the cinema a lot because I usually leave being disappointed with the type of blockbuster movies being made nowadays and I don’t bother thinking about them much later on. With Pacific Rim I started looking at what people were saying about it online. I don’t participate in forums and blogs so I was suprised when I discovered a lot of very enthusiastic opinions and fanart.
That’s when I found http://jaegercon.tumblr.com/ and http://jaegerparty.tumblr.com/, but too late for the Melbourne get together. However, I’ve decided to go watch Pacific Rim again with the same friend next week at Imax (there aren’t many sessions showing now, so the choice is limited).
I think Pacific Rim is the first movie where I’ve been really actively cheering along the box office total and the first movie I have really considered seeing twice (like I said I don’t go to the cinema often, and I’ve seen one movie twice before, but that was because I happen to be going along with other people), and the first one I have considered seeing at Imax (I have never been before).
So it’s nice to find others enjoying the same thing and in Melbourne as well.
